The ANZAC spirit

On the 25th of April, Australia remembered the sacrifice of service men and women by taking part in marches throughout the country.
In the lead up to ANZAC day, the students in our learning group building captured the ANZAC spirit by taking part in a variety of activities.
The week saw some of us wearing ANZAC badges, writing about soldiers at war and paying our respect via a one minute silence.  We had a guest speaker visit us (thanks Deb!), accessed ANZAC websites to complete history tasks and read stories of war such as 'Simpson and his Donkey'.
In addition to this, 50 lucky students went to Melbourne to visit the Shrine of Remembrance, whilst others displayed their cooking skills by baking ANZAC biscuits - boy did our building smell delicious!

Lest We Forget.

Mum, Deb Robinson, taught us about Lara's 'Avenue of Honour' and showed us how to map our ANZACs on our netbooks
